Take Time to Volunteer -
One of the Greatest Gifts of All

As a volunteer, you can make a difference in your own life, in the lives of others, and in the Library's future. Our volunteers are a diverse group. What they all have in common is that each has a talent or skill needed by the library.

To become a volunteer, Please read the New Volunteer Policy, complete the Adult Application or the Youth Application and return it to the Library. The more specific you are, the better we are able to determine whether there is a volunteer job suited to you.

Sometimes we're unable to match your abilities with the Library's needs; however, applications are kept on file for possible use in the future.

All applicants will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator. Return to:

Computer Instructors to Teach Basic Computer Skills
Are you a computer whiz with the desire to help adults or kids learn basic computer skills such as surfing the Internet, Windows and Word? If so, we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! The Omaha Public Library offers free classes to anyone interested in learning basic computer skills. We need instructors who are patient, have good communications skills (including the ability to teach on a non-techie level) and the willingness to help beginning learners.

As a volunteer you will be asked to teach classes that are an hour to an hour and one-half in length and a basic lesson plan will be provided. Classes are scheduled to begin in July and are held on different days and times so we can accommodate your schedule.
