DES MOINES DAY.

August 23, 1898.

A large number of excursionists from others parts of Iowa assembled at the
Auditorium for the formal exercises of Des Moines Day.  The program was as
follows:

After the exercises, the visitors were entertained at dinner at the Markel
Cafe.
