The government building was a large structure and could be seen from downtown Omaha. The building had a dome with a statue on top that stood 14 feet high. The statue was entitled "Liberty Enlightening the World" and was about 150 feet from the ground.

The Government building was the only building covered entirely by staff, which is whiter than plaster. The building was ornate to the extreme and very beautiful and very impressive. The building was covered with more than 1,000 electric lights to bring out the features of the building at night.

The engineer in charge of the construction of the Government building was Engineer J.J. Farnan. George Moore and Sons of Memphis were the carpenters and Alexander and Sons were in charge of the application of staff.
