The Transportation Building housed the Department of Transportation. Here, they organized and secured reduced rates for the importing of all materials to Omaha for the Exposition. The Department of Transportation also had a system of railroad tracks laid within the grounds to be used during the construction. This made transportation between the buildings easy and efficient. During the course of the Exposition, not a single loss or damage claim was filed due to the excellent performance of the Department. The Transportation Building was made in the Medieval or Swiss form of Architecture. The building was 400 X 600 feet. |
