tmi00361 The Manufactures' building was 300x125 feet and 40 feet high. It cost 56,256.13 to construct and maintain. It was located in the central region of the grounds. The exhibits in the Manufactures' building were much more expensive than those in any of the other buildings. Some interesting exhibits in the building were those of the packing house industries, the refrigeration of meats, the demonstration of an electric cutter for clothing, cooking inventions, jewlery, furniture, silks from the Orient, among others. All of these exhibits took up a great deal of space, and so the Manufactures' building had to use every bit of their space wisely. The total amount of space in the building that could be occupied was 49,669 feet and a gallery of 19,884 feet. This building attracted a large number of visitors and became very popular as the Exposition went on.
