Professor Frederick W.
Taylor was in charge of this building which was a solid
structure and was well suited to fit the requirements. Charles F.
Reindorff was the architect.
The Horticultural Building was an opportunity to explore for both the
exhibitors and the public to enjoy.
Thirteen states provided exhibits for the building. In addition to
the states, a number of individual exhibitors also participated. There
were approximately over 600 exhibits inside the Horticulture Building.
Perhaps, the most notable thing was from the opening
day to the closing day there was always a large
and attractive exhibit of fresh fruits on display.
The outside exhibits were of the greatest value to the Exposition.
They exemplified both the detailed work of the florists and awed the
onlookers.
Mr. H. B. Hardt was the assistant chief of this department.

The securing of the large century plant under the dome,
was an engineering accomplishment, especially during the early part of
the season, when exhibits were hard to maintain.
