On July 7, 1897, the Administration Arch became the first planned building of the exposition. Originally, the building was intended to hold the offices for the exposition. Work on the Arch commenced on July 15, 1897. The final cost was $11,621.24. When finished, the building stood 55'4" tall, and had a 50' by 50' base. |
