Sept. 23, 1898.
22ND U.S. INFANTRY DAY.
The 22nd U.S. Infantry of Regulars, about 200 strong, marched to the
Exposition
grounds and were passed through the gates. They came for a holiday and no
formal exercises marred their vacations. Lunch was served to the
soldiers at
the Markel Cafe and the day and evening was pleasantly spent seeing the
sights
in the Exhibit Buildings and Concessions. [SR]
