LIVE-STOCK DAY

As one of the great attractions of the Exposition, a livestock show had been planned which should equal or excel any such display that had ever been made. Premiums to the amount of $35,000 had been voted by the Board of Directors. Nearly twenty acres of ground had been covered by buildings and stalls, wherein nearly 3,000 animals were displayed, and on this day the Livestock Exhibit was opened to the inspection of the world. No formal exercises marked the beginning of this great exhibition, but thousands of livestock men from all over the west swelled the attendance, and great interest was aroused by the magnificent display which awaited their inspection. This livestock exhibit proved a very instructive and interesting feature of the exposition, and was pronounced one of its most successful exhibits.
