CHILDREN'S DAY

A low admission fee had been fixed for the children on this day and they came in thousands form the city and surrounding country to participate in the closing day of the Great Peace Jubilee. No formal exercises were held but they sang patriotic songs with the accompaniment of Innes Band in the afternoon on the Plaza, and spent the day as only children can, in the enjoyment of the many interesting amusements throughout the Midway, on the lagoon and in the Exhibit Buildings. [SR]

More children from south of Omaha... 1000 from Manhattan, KS, 1000 from Stromsburg area, 1000 from Table Rock area. [WH]

Midway is nice to children... free camel rides, two or three enter on one ticket at Hagensacks, Streets of All Nations and Shoot the Chutes. [SB]

Thus closed the most successful week in point of attendance and interesting ceremonies of all the Exposition period.

Sunday following Peace Jubilee Week brought a snow-storm with a high wind, which for several days marred the comfort of visitors on the grounds and necessitated the postponement of several special celebrations which had been planned. The Oddfellows, had prepared for a great gathering and celebration to be held October 17th. This was postponed indefinitely on account of the storm.[SR]
