Question: Why am I seeing the Username/Password login screen when I try to login to ReferenceUSA thru my library’s website?
Answer: It is likely that your security settings may be set too high to access ReferenceUSA. Following the instructions below may fix your problem. It essentially involves adding http://www.referenceusa.com to your list of “Trusted Sites” in Internet Explorer. Steps 3-6 involve regular Internet Explorer maintenance, which should be performed on a regular basis, no matter what websites you browse. Open Internet Explorer.

1. Goto “Tools” –› “Reset Web Settings” and press the “Yes” button when prompted.

2. Goto "Tools" -> "Internet Options..."


You are presented with this window:

3. Click "Delete Cookies", then press "OK"

4. Click "Delete Files...", CHECK the box labeled "Delete all offline content" and press "OK"
5. Click "Clear History" and press "Yes"

6. Click on the "Security" tab. Then Click on "Trusted sites" and press the "Sites..." button.



7. UNCHECK the checkbox for "Require server verification (https:) for sites in this zone"

8. In the "Add this WEbsite to the zone: "box, type http://www.referenceusa.com
9. Press the "Add" button.
10. Press "Ok"
11. Press "Ok"
12 Close all Internet Explorer windows.
