1. Right-click on your Norton Internet Security icon in your system tray and select Norton Internet Security, or double-click on the desktop icon. If you're using Norton's Personal Firewall click here.
2. Click the Privacy Control row, and then click the gold Configure button on the right.

3.Click on the Advance button.
You should see a screen like the one below.
You will get a screen like the one below.


Click the add Site button and enter www.referenceusa.com (or the url of the database you're trying to access.) (For HeritageQuest use persi.heritagequestonline.com.)
Click the OK button.

4. On the Global Settings tab on the right-hand side, find "Information about visited sites" and UNCHECK the "Use default settings" entry. Click the Permit radio button.
5. Click OK, then OK again, and you will not experience anymore issues.
For Norton Personal Firewall click on Privacy Control, then choose Configure...Custom Level. Uncheck Enable Browser Privacy. If you prefer having this setting Enabled, please remember to Enable it again when you're done.
