SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR ALL AGES The Summer Reading Program is about to begin! Starting June 1, you may register your children for story times and other weekly events when you visit the library. Many events require pre-registration, so register early. Parents may wish to consult the reading log guidelines and a list of activities and contests or see the activities in a calendar format. Please note that the journalism classes have been cancelled. Sorry, registrations must be done in person, not by phone.
Story times are broken down by age of the child and run from June 9 to July 16: Toddlers (18 months to 3 years) - Tuesdays or Thursdays, 10:30 am Pre-school (3 to 5 years old) - Tuesdays or Thursdays, 10:30 am Chapter Books (K to 2nd grade) - Thursdays at 1:30 Chapter Books (3rd to 6th grade) - Thursdays at 1:30
Change in location for End of Summer Reading Program Party! Our party on July 22 will be in the gym at Trinity United Methodist Church, 8009 Q Street. Enter the lower level on the west side. You may pick up a ticket listing the new location on your next visit to the library.
TEENS - Register for a summer reading program designed just for you, Express Yourself @ Your Library! It begins June 3 and includes Wii and chess tournaments, dance lessons with Teela, plus Twilight Trivia! |

ADULTS - Beginning the first week of June, answer a new trivia question each week and enter to win gifts certificates and other prizes, like this Master the Art of Reading t-shirt or a matching cloth bag. All entries are eligible for the final drawing on July 17. |

| June 19 - July 5 | 4th annual Ralston Reconnection Invitational Art Exhibit - celebrating artists with a connection to Ralston. Sponsored by the Ralston Cultural Arts Task Force. A public reception will be sponsored by First State Bank in the evening of June 19. | |

Annual Quilt Show - Selected quilts will be on display in the meeting room. Sponsored by the Library Foundation. The quilt pictured here will be raffled during the quilt show. Proceeds from the raffle support the library. Click on the picture for a larger image. |

Enjoy lunch in the meeting room 12:15 - 12:45, then join us in front of the fireplace for balloon fun and magic with Poppin' Penelope from the Balloon Brigade Team. Drinks, dessert, and prizes will be provided. | |
