lovable dinosaur, the Sniffasaurus, who delights people of all ages wherever he goes while teaching the importance of natural gas safety. Information from the following community organizations will also be available: Douglas County Health Department, Enough Is Enough, Omaha Serves, The Empowerment Network, Banister's Leadership Academy, Eastern Nebraska Community Action Program, Butler-Gast YMCA, Neighborhood Action and Facts, A1 Health Services, Malcolm X Memorial Foundation, North Omaha Neighborhood Alliance, Juneteenth Nebraska, and the Omaha Police Department.

“Libraries build strong communities,” said Joanne Ferguson Cavanaugh, Charles B. Washington Branch manager. “The annual Family Fair is a way to highlight the incredible resources available right here in our own neighborhood!"

Juneteenth originated in 1865 and observes June 19 as Emancipation Day, the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Omaha Public Library’s June Family Fair emphasizes freedom, education and achievement, and promotes the rich history of the Omaha community.

The event is free for the enjoyment of all ages and is sponsored by the Omaha Public Library Foundation and Friends of Omaha Public Library. Visit
