Omaha Public Library is busy building and renovating libraries to better serve our community.
South Omaha Library (Opening May 2008)
2808 Q Street
Omaha NE 68107
We are moving! Omaha Public Library’s first joint facility is being built in partnership with Metropolitan Community College. The new facility will be more than 22,000 square feet and will feature a state-of-the-art teen center, computer lab, a larger reference and research space and enhanced children’s area. (South Branch)
A.V. Sorensen Branch Library (Opening August 2008)
The library will house a computer lab with eight work stations, a separate glass-walled teen center with three computer stations, a new window and window seat in the children’s area, a new service desk, new lighting and carpeting, and fresh paint. In addition, the east entrance of the recreation center will be made more accessible to handicapped users.
Saddlebrook Branch Library (Opening August 2009)
14850 Laurel Avenue, Suite 103 N
Omaha NE 68164
We are thrilled to partner with Omaha Public Schools and Omaha Parks and Recreation to create our first new library in more than 20 years! Saddlebrook is a joint facility featuring a K-4 elementary school, community center with fitness facilities and an elevated walking track and a 13,000 square foot library to serve both student needs and the community. The entire facility will feature a green roof and rain garden for increased energy efficiency and cleaner storm water run off.
