Spin a web and ride the wheel at the Omaha Kids Read Family Fair

Omaha Kids Read is hosting a spidery Family Fair this Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Omaha Public Library's Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch, 100 Reading Rd.

Charlotte's Web, the beloved classic by E. B. White, is the first Omaha Kids Read title. Kids of all ages who come to the Family Fair will get to spin spider web necklaces, create word buttons, paint mud pictures, compete in Templeton's egg relay races, watch puppet shows and join in other book–themed activities. Barnyard friends of Wilbur the pig will greet guests, and the first 300 to arrive will get a token for a Ferris wheel ride at Scheels in Village Pointe. All activities are free.

Five more Omaha Kids Read events will be presented through the conclusion of the one–book–one–city program, Nov. 30. Kids who attend all the free programs can collect six special word buttons.
