October 23, 2007 Primed for “Prime Time Family Reading®” |

Every culture has passed down lessons on social virtues from one generation to the next through the tradition of storytelling. North and south Omaha families with children six years old and up are invited to recreate a similar tradition at Prime Time Family Reading®, a free six-week program designed to help parents and children read together and talk about stories with life lessons. Omaha Public Library’s South Branch offers a bilingual Prime
Small children are welcome and special activities are planned for them. Transportation to and from the meetings will be available for those who make prior arrangements with the Prime Time location of their choice. Families can ask for a free Early Literacy Calendar while supplies last. The information-packed calendar is loaded with tips on how to start children on the path to lifelong reading from the moment of birth. This year’s PRIME TIME events are sponsored by Nebraska Humanities Council, Omaha Public Library Foundation, Friends of Omaha Public Library, State of Nebraska, Nebraska Library Commission, Mutual of Omaha Foundation, Lincoln Financial Foundation, and the Omaha Community Foundation.
