The LongHaul Bombers, a group of ballplayers touring major-league ballparks in the U.S., will make a special stop at 3:30 p.m. this Friday at Omaha Public Library’s Charles B. Washington Branch, prior to their evening appearance at Rosenblatt Stadium.

The eight ballplayers will arrive in a limousine to talk with kids and their families for 30 minutes about the value of education, fitness and involvement with community events such as the Boys and Girls Clubs’ RBI program. A limited number of tickets for that evening’s Omaha Royals vs. Iowa Cubs game will be given away during their visit.

Omaha marks the LongHaul Bombers’ only minor-league ballpark stop along a tour that includes a season-long homerun-hitting contest sponsored by four bat manufacturers (Miken, Dimarini, Worth and Easton).
