“It is such happiness when good people get together,” in the words of Emma, a charming but misguided character created by Jane Austen. So too is such happiness expected when good people gather for Omaha Public Library’s fourth annual Jane Austen Birthday Tea, 2-4 p.m., Dec. 15, W. Dale Clark Library, 215 S. 15th St. Mark Turner, an Austen fan from Maryland, will tease the audience with riddles from the Regency period. “As in past years,” said Rivkah Sass, Omaha Public Library Executive Director, “we are encouraging people to bring their favorite teacups and join us for a couple of hours of games, fun and celebration.” The Bookworm bookstore will have books and holiday gift items available for purchase. The Jane Austen Birthday Tea is free and open to everyone. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
