Irene & Geisse Ferryboats

This is a view of the Council Bluffs Terminal, whose probable location is at the west end of the Chicago & North Western tracks between Broadway and First Avenue in Council Bluffs, Iowa. At least three railroads terminated here. The “Kansas City St. Joseph & C. Bluffs RR” for St. Louis and the East and the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railroad have their own buildings; one other sign shows Chicago Burlington --- _____________ River R R Line. The Chicago & North Western also had facilities here. The passenger ferries Irene and P. F. Geisse are waiting for the passengers to load. Two passenger trains are backed up to the “Through Ticket Office” which also mentions Pullman’s Palace Cars and Hotel train.
