St. Peter’s Church was established in 1886. Both St. Agnes and St. Peter’s were designed along identical layouts - religious services held on the upper floor and a school on the ground floor. The cornerstone of the new St. Peter’s Church at 2706 Leavenworth was laid in 1924. The old church/school building on the northeast corner of 28th & Leavenworth was razed in 1938 and replaced with St. Peter’s School.
