OMAHA HIGH SCHOOL |
1 2 |
The interior of Omaha High echoed a classical theme. Hallways were decorated with statues of Greek gods and goddesses meant to inspire students to loftier heights of learning.
Classrooms were often quite large and resembled the lecture halls of today.
The manual training or “shop” course began in the 1880’s and was one of the most popular classes. Coursework included mechanical and architectural drafting, wood turning, joinery and metal work for boys while girls studied home economics.
