HAYWARD BROTHERS SHOE COMPANY

Hayward Bros. Shoe Co.

The Hayward Brothers Shoe Company was in business from 1887 to 1929. It was located at 15th and Douglas from 1887 to 1892. In 1893 it became the Williams-Hayward Shoe Company and moved to 14th and Harney. In 1901 it briefly became simply the Williams Shoe Company. In 1902 it again became the Williams-Hayward Shoe Company and moved into the building at 12th and Howard that is seen in this picture. In 1903 the company dropped the Williams from its name, becoming once again the Hayward Brothers Shoe Company. The company stayed at 12th and Howard until 1914 or 1915, when it moved to its final location at 12th and Farnam. The Hayward Brothers Shoe Company went out of business in 1929 or 1930.
