M. A. DISBROW & CO.

M. A. Disborw & Co.

These buildings occupied the block bounded by 11th, 12th, Nicholas, and Izard Streets. From 1886 to 1918 or 1919 they served as the regional warehouse and Omaha retail store of the Iowa-based M. A. Disbrow & Company. That company’s main products were sashes, doors, blinds, and mouldings. In addition to these main staples, Disbrow & Company also manufactured window and door frames, building and roofing paper, mantels, counters, pew ends, brackets, scroll work, and fine hard wood interior finish. All of these items were manufactured at Disbrow & Company’s factory in Lyons, Iowa; these buildings served as the warehouse for the company’s business in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, and the Dakotas. Disbrow & Company left Omaha in 1918 or 1919.
