This “lost wax” bronze sculpture entitled “Children Reading on a Log" is on display inside the A. V. Sorensen Library. The sculpture has been commissioned in memory of Pam Scott,
a former Omaha Public Library Manager, who passed away in September 2007. Donations for the sculpture have come from her many friends, coworkers and family and are being coordinated through the Omaha Public Library Foundation.
A.V. Sorensen Branch is now open
The library houses a computer lab with eight work stations, a separate glass-walled teen center with three computer stations, a new window and window seat in the children’s area, a new service desk, new lighting and carpeting, and fresh paint. In addition, the east entrance of the recreation center is now more accessible to handicapped users.
